Atl-what?! Come find out!
Long before the bow and arrow, ancient peoples relied on the spear-thrower, or "atlatl," for survival. Come join us to try your hand at using the atlatl and to learn more about the history of this fascinating, ancient technology! Must be at least 8 years old to participate.
Where: Day Use Picnic Area
Bring:
- Closed-toed shoes (tennis shoes are best)
- Drinking water
- Bug repellant
- This program is outdoors; please dress for the weather.

Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the program.

Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
- Reserving your day pass in advance is strongly encouraged and can be done at TexasStateParks.ReserveAmerica.com. Use self-pay station when the office is closed.

The program may be canceled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
