Join us for a FREE ranger-led kayaking program in the estuary at Fish Pass. Learn the essentials of paddling, launching, and retrieving your kayak and get a fresh perspective on the Corpus Christi bay habitat.
Want to learn the basics of kayaking? Ranger Eric will be leading 4 kayaking basics programs this July. In this two-hour program we will learn to paddle in the safe environment of Fish Pass where the water is only about 24-36". We provide the kayak, paddle, life jacket and instructions. Minimum age and size is 8 years old/80 pounds with adult participation. We have 8 tandem and 3 single sit-on-top kayaks.
- Sunscreen, hat, water bottle, sunglasses recommended.
- The program is about two hours and depending on weather and energy of the group will be about 1.5 miles round trip
- No flip flops please, sandals with heel straps are acceptable but closed-toe shoes preferred
- Group meets at Headquarters parking lot at 8:45 a.m. before driving across the street to the south Fish Pass launch area
- Entry fee to the park is $5/person, 12 and under free. Texas State Park Pass holders entry is FREE
- Be prepared to get wet and or muddy
