Learn basic kayak safety and paddling techniques before joining a park ranger for a paddle in the bay. Must be at least 15 years old to participate. All equipment provided. Participants must register in pairs. 

Registration required at least 24 hours in advance via email to Sarah.Affeldt@tpwd.texas.gov.

*Email subject: "Paddle with a Park Ranger, date of event." Please include the names of people you wish to register, the ages of any minors (15+ only), and a day of event contact phone number. A confirmation email with more information on how to prepare will be sent to registered participants before the program.

FYI:

• Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the program.

• Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.

• Reserving your day pass in advance is strongly encouraged and can be done at TexasStateParks.ReserveAmerica.com. Use self-pay station when office is closed.

• Program may be cancelled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.

• Groups larger than eight, please contact Ranger Sarah for a private event.
