Join a ranger as we hike Turks Cap Trail using the "Seek" app to identify local plants and animals. You never know what you'll see!

Join us in a hike of Turks Cap Trail to identify local plants and animals we come across. We recommend downloading the smartphone app "Seek" by iNaturalist before the hike, but it's not required.

We will hike half of the .66-mile trail, and turn around to come back to where we started. This hike is considered easy/beginner. Registration is not required.

Where: Meet at the Turks Cap Trailhead near site 157.

Bring: 

• Walking shoes
• Sunscreen
• Bug repellant 
• Water
• Smartphone (recommended)

Details:

• Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the program.
• Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
• The program may be canceled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
