Birding with ease, hop on our silent tram!
Join a ranger on a relaxing ride on our silent tram in search of some of Goose Island's iconic shorebirds. Expect to learn about and identify birds seen on the route, which includes a stop at the bird viewing area. This program is designed for both novice and experienced birders. There will be optional opportunities to get off the tram and walk a short distance to view birds.
Limited space available, so registration is required. Call (361) 729-2858 or visit Park Headquarters to register, or email sara.rock@tpwd.texas.gov.
When: 9:00-10:30 A.M. Please arrive at the park at least 10 minutes before the start time.
Where: Check in at headquarters to obtain your daily entrance pass, then meet at the day use parking lot.
Bring: Binoculars, water, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, camera, and weather-appropriate clothing. The park offers a limited number of binoculars available for loan, but it is best to bring your own.
FYI:
- Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program. Children under two years of age must be seated on the lap of a guardian.
- Pets are not allowed on the tram.
- Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
